Community Guidelines
Last updated: July 26, 2026
NomadHearts exists so people living on the road can find each other — a partner, a travel buddy, a campfire, a hand with a broken fan. That only works if the community is honest and safe. These guidelines apply everywhere in the app: profiles, chats, the Feed, events, convoys, Handy Nomads, and the Marketplace. They are part of our Terms of Service.
1. Be real
- Use recent photos of yourself. No stock images, celebrities, or someone else's pictures.
- Your main profile photo should clearly show you, with your face visible.
- Use your real name or the name people know you by. Do not impersonate anyone, including NomadHearts staff.
- You must be 18 or older. Do not use photos where a child is the focus of your profile picture.
- Be honest about your rig, your route, your skills, and your intentions.
- One person, one account.
2. Consent is the whole game
People come here for different things — friendship, travel partners, or something more. Flirting is welcome — pressure is not.
- No unsolicited sexual content. Do not send explicit photos or messages to someone who has not asked for them.
- If someone stops replying, unmatches, or asks you to stop, that is your answer. Do not message them from another account.
- Do not use the Handy Nomads or Marketplace features to make romantic or sexual advances. Someone offering to fix your alternator is not offering a date.
- Never pressure anyone to meet, to share their location, to drink, or to go somewhere they are unsure about.
3. Never, under any circumstances
These result in immediate removal and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement:
- Any sexual content involving minors, or any attempt to contact a minor.
- Threats of violence, encouraging self-harm, or content glorifying violence or terrorism.
- Hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Sharing intimate images of someone without their consent.
- Harassment, stalking, or coordinated pile-ons.
- Human trafficking, sex work solicitation, or any illegal service.
- Selling or offering drugs, weapons, or other unlawful goods.
4. Respect other people's privacy
On the road, privacy is safety. Treat other people's information as if it were your own.
- Do not publish anyone's exact location, camp spot, address, phone number, workplace, or vehicle plate.
- Do not share screenshots of private chats or someone's photos outside the app.
- Do not post recognisable photos of other people without their agreement.
- If a friend shares their live location with you, that is for you — not to pass on.
- Think twice before posting the exact coordinates of a quiet boondocking spot in a public post. It protects both the people there and the place itself.
5. Chats
- Keep conversations in the app until you trust someone. Our reporting tools cannot help you elsewhere.
- Do not ask other members for money, gift cards, crypto, bank or card details — and never send them.
- No spam, chain messages, mass copy-paste openers, or promoting other platforms and services.
- Do not share your own sensitive details — documents, banking, passwords — with someone you just met.
6. The Feed and your blog
- Post your own words and photos. Credit anything that is not yours.
- Keep it useful or human: the road, repairs, spots, life. Not advertising.
- No nudity or sexually explicit imagery in public posts.
- Disagree without insulting. Comments are part of the community, not a comment war.
- You can edit or delete your own posts at any time. You can report someone else's.
7. Events and convoys
- Post accurate details: place, time, what it is, and roughly what it costs.
- Choose meeting points that are public and reachable. Say so if the spot needs high clearance or 4x4.
- If you cancel or move an event, tell the people who joined.
- Events are for adults. Do not organise anything unlawful, and respect land rules, fire bans, and quiet hours.
- If alcohol is involved, no one drives impaired. Say up front if a convoy has a pace or distance others must keep up with.
- A convoy leader is a fellow traveller, not a guide or a tour operator. Everyone is responsible for their own vehicle and their own decisions.
8. Handy Nomads
- Only offer work you are actually competent to do. Be clear about what you can and cannot do.
- Do not claim licences, certifications, or insurance you do not have.
- Agree the scope and the price in the chat before the work starts, so both sides have it in writing.
- Be honest about parts: new, used, or salvaged.
- Follow the law where you are — some work (gas, high-voltage, brakes, structural) is regulated or genuinely dangerous.
- NomadHearts is not a party to your arrangement and does not handle payment.
9. Marketplace
- Sell only what you own and are allowed to sell.
- Describe items honestly, including wear, damage, and age. Use your own photos of the actual item.
- Mark items as sold when they are gone.
- Prohibited: weapons and ammunition, drugs and paraphernalia, prescription medicines, alcohol and tobacco, live animals, stolen or counterfeit goods, recalled equipment, hazardous materials, and anything restricted where you are.
- Deals are between members. NomadHearts does not process payments, hold funds, or offer buyer protection.
10. Ratings
- Rate only people you actually dealt with, and rate what happened.
- Do not trade, buy, or ask for ratings, and do not rate yourself through a second account.
- Never use a rating as leverage — "give me a discount or I leave one star" is extortion, not feedback.
- Keep personal details and accusations out of ratings. If something serious happened, report it instead.
11. Scams
Romance and travel scams follow patterns. Report anyone who:
- professes strong feelings very fast, then has an emergency and needs money;
- is always unable to meet or video call, or whose story keeps shifting;
- wants to move you to another app immediately;
- offers an investment, crypto tip, or "easy money" opportunity;
- asks you to receive or forward a package or a payment;
- sends a deposit for a Marketplace item and then asks for part of it back.
NomadHearts will never ask you for your password, your payment details, or money.
12. Blocking and reporting
You can block any member from their profile or a chat — they can no longer contact you or see your posts, and they are not told. Reporting is separate and comes to us: use the report option on a profile, message, post, or listing, or email info@nomadhearts.online.
Tell us what happened and where, and include a screenshot if you have one. Reports are confidential. Do not use blocking or reporting to punish someone for a bad date or a lost sale — false reports are themselves a violation.
If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services first. In the United States and Canada, dial 911. Report to us afterwards so we can act on the account.
13. What happens if you break the rules
Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, we may: remove the content, give you a warning, limit features, suspend the account, or close it permanently. Serious violations — anything involving minors, violence, or non-consensual images — lead to immediate removal without warning, and we may report them to law enforcement.
If you believe we got it wrong, write to info@nomadhearts.online and a human will look at it again.
