Child Safety Standards

NomadHearts is an app for adults. These are our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). They apply to everyone who uses the app, everywhere, without exception.

1. NomadHearts is for adults only

• The minimum age is 18. This is set out in our Terms of Service.
• Everyone must enter a date of birth when creating an account. Anyone under 18 is refused.
• The app is rated 18+ on Google Play and on the Apple App Store, and we have asked Google Play to block users it has determined to be minors from finding or downloading it.
• If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it and delete the data.

2. What is prohibited

The following are banned outright and are grounds for immediate, permanent removal:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — photographs, drawings, generated images, video, audio, or text.
• Sexualised depictions or descriptions of anyone under 18, real or fictional.
• Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to arrange sexual contact with a minor.
• Sextortion, or trading, requesting, or advertising such material.
• Using the app to identify, locate, or approach a minor for any of the above.
• Links, usernames, or coded language pointing to such material elsewhere.

3. How to report

You do not need an account or any special knowledge to report something. Every report is read by a person.

• In the app: open the profile, message, listing, or post and use Report. You can also block the person at the same time. Reports about child safety are treated as the highest priority.
• By email: info@nomadhearts.online. Please include the Nomad-ID or profile name and, if you can, when and where you saw it.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States that is 911. You can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or on 1-800-843-5678.

4. How we respond

• Reports about child safety are reviewed ahead of everything else, and we aim to act within 24 hours.
• Confirmed accounts are removed permanently and their content deleted. We do not accept appeals in these cases.
• We preserve the records needed for a lawful investigation, and we report to the relevant regional and national authorities — including NCMEC where applicable — as the law requires.
• We keep a record of a removal so that the same person cannot simply sign up again. This is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. What we do to prevent it

• Age gate at sign-up, plus an 18+ rating on Google Play and the App Store and a minor restriction on Google Play.
• No open messaging. Nobody can send you a message out of the blue — a connection request has to be accepted before a chat opens.
• Word filtering on messages, profiles, posts, listings and comments, which blocks known terms before content is ever published.
• Reporting and blocking on every profile, message, listing and post.
• Location is protected by default. Others see only a rough area of about seven miles. A precise location is shared only with people you have explicitly chosen, and can be switched off entirely.
• Active moderation by our team, with the ability to remove content, suspend and permanently ban accounts.

7. Compliance

We comply with all applicable child safety laws in the markets where NomadHearts is available, and with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy. We review these standards at least once a year and whenever our features or our legal obligations change.
